THE MOTIVATION

Water Crisis

The world water crisis is severe:

Lack of clean water is a dire global concern – one that results in over 3 million deaths per year across the globe.

Dirty water deaths are second only to cancer worldwide.

Over half the world’s hospital beds are occupied with people suffering from illnesses linked to contaminated water.

80% of the burden is on women and children, since they are the ones that collect it – often hiking miles and spending hours per day to fetch water that is mostly contaminated. This keeps them from being able to have time to invest in any kind of better life for themselves.

The lack of clean water cripples all development efforts, since access to clean water and adequate sanitation is a basic prerequisite for people being able to lift themselves out of poverty.

Water Crisis

The crisis is also solveable.

Deaths caused by water-borne illnesses are overwhelmingly preventable.

Dedicated efforts have unequivocally shown that solutions exist, and that progress is possible.

With safe water nearby, women are free to pursue new opportunities and improve their families’ lives. Kids can earn their education and build the future of their communities. It all starts with WATER.

You can change the outcome of a person’s life with the choices you make.
